It isn't about the tunnels as those tunnels are from the 1982-2000 war in Lebanon in which Hezbollah used to attack the SLA and IDF and Israel knew they were there that's why Hezbollah never used them in 2006 war. The real reason Israel wants war is because of Hezbollah's advanced guided missile program and the oil deals Lebanon is about to sign for oil in the mediterranean sea which Israel and Lebanon both claim.
Yes, I'm sure an Israeli politician said in the last couple of days that the whole business with the tunnels was a "farce". I believe Russia supports Lebanon's claim to that oil, perhaps why there's a story going around that Russia is prepared to arm Lebanon with S300's.

Very bizarre decision to sacrifice it's trade with Indonesia and Malaysia who are two of Australia's biggest trade partners and said they will cut all ties with Australia if they do it. But also this seems like another Paraguay situation where this government is due to be replaced in a few months and the next government will reverse the decision.

An announcement that Iran may deploy new-generation warships to Venezuelan waters is being regarded by analysts as the mother of all provocations because it could alter the region’s geopolitical balance and almost certainly disturb the U.S. government.
“The arrival of these Iranian ships would upset the regional order,” said Rocio San Miguel, president of Control Ciudadano, a non-governmental organization that monitors Venezuela’s armed forces. This is going to bother neighboring countries and “generate an undesirable situation,” she added in a telephone interview from Spain.
Amid the growing tensions between Washington and Tehran, the Iranian government last week launched a destroyer, built in the Islamic country, with stealth properties that allow it to avoid radar detection.
“This is extremely dangerous. It’s crazy to send three warships to the U.S. backyard,” Rodil said from Washington, D.C. “If it happens, the only thing it will do is that Washington will send an aircraft carrier to the Venezuelan coast.”
“Iran today is the most critical point of U.S. foreign policy. It’s one of the issues that President Donald Trump has spent the most time on, and sending those ships would be a provocation the administration could not ignore,” he added.

China has reportedly detained a Canadian senior advisor for an international NGO, who was a previously a diplomat in Hong Kong and the mainland.
The International Crisis Group said in a statement on Tuesday night that it was aware of reports that its North East Asia Senior Adviser Michael Kovrig, had been detained. Kovrig has been a full-time expert for the group since February 2017.
We are doing everything possible to secure additional information on Michael’s whereabouts as well as his prompt and safe release,” the statement read.
The group confirmed to HKFP that Kovrig was on business for the group in China before his detention. Details surrounding the incident remain unclear
Kovrig was vice-consul of the Canadian Embassy in Beijing between September 2014 and August 2016. Following that, he moved to Hong Kong as consul of the Canadian Consulate General. He remained in the role until September 2016.
The International Crisis Group was formed in 1995 and is headquartered in Belgium. The transnational non-profit works “to prevent wars and shape policies that will build a more peaceful world,” according to its website.
Huawei extradition
Kovrig’s detention comes days after Canada’s arrest of Huawei’s Chief Financial Officer Meng Wanzhou, following a request by the US authorities asking for the extradition of Meng on fraud charges.
Huawei has been accused by the US of breaking the country’s sanctions against Iran using a Hong Kong company called Skycom. The US considers it an “unofficial subsidiary.”

Don't trust the Lebanese army as they are mostly supported by france and America and the old South Lebanese army fought alongside Israel before Hezbollah dismantled them, If anything happens Hezbollah will have to step in.
